Job Summary:
In the role of Machinist at Force Inspection Services, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to precisely machine, repair, and manufacture oilfield tubular products, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications and quality standards. This role requires a blend of technical skill, safety compliance, and the ability to mentor junior staff, while optimizing machining processes and maintaining equipment within the oil and gas industry's demanding environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and shop drawings specific to oilfield tubular assets to determine machining operations required for threading, manufacturing, and repairing drill pipe, drill tools, and other tubular products.
Program CNC machines for precision machining operations, ensuring adherence to Force Inspection's quality management system (QMS) procedures and oil and gas industry standards such as API 5CT and 5B.
Set up and operate CNC lathes, horizontal band saws, and other required manufacturing equipment, applying advanced knowledge of conversational programming and experience with DMG Mori lathes as needed.
Perform precision measurements using various gauges and measuring equipment to verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications, emphasizing quality control in every aspect of machining and manufacturing processes.
Conduct preventive maintenance on machine tools and equipment, documenting maintenance activities and promptly reporting any equipment outages to ensure minimal downtime and maintain production efficiency.
Collaborate with the Machine Shop Supervisor and other team members to optimize machining procedures and enhance the efficiency of manufacturing operations, contributing to effective throughput and the achievement of production objectives.
Train and mentor junior staff members in machining skills, safety protocols, quality assurance practices, and adherence to Force Inspection's HSE program and Occupational HSE Regulations, fostering a culture of continuous learning and safety.
Assist in health, safety, and environmental (HSE) initiatives, actively participating in improving safety measures and complying with occupational HSE regulations specific to the oilfield services industry.
Communicate effectively with internal and external customers regarding job status, ensuring customer satisfaction through professional conduct and timely execution of service and manufacturing orders.
Establish and implement efficient methods to meet work schedules, coordinating work activities with other units within Force Inspection Services to ensure seamless production flow and timely completion of projects.
Resolve machining or production issues by applying well-developed problem-solving skills and recommending measures to improve productivity and product quality, while being open to incorporating new methods and principles into existing practices.
Prepare production reports and other documentation as required, ensuring accurate record-keeping for all machining operations and participating in quality initiatives to support the ongoing improvement of the quality program.
Wage/Salary: $37.00/hour

Skills Requirements
Education: Secondary School Diploma required
Work Experience: At least 3 years of work experience as a Machinist
Skills/Licensing:
Verifiable work experience in programming CNC machines, including conversational programming, with a strong understanding of G-code and M-code.
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and shop drawings, with a focus on oilfield tubular products. This includes understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Demonstrable proficiency in using various gauges and measuring equipment to ensure products meet precise specifications. Demonstrated proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools is required.
Comprehensive knowledge of machining operations, including turning, milling, boring, and drilling.
Ability to operate required manufacturing equipment, including CNC Lathe Machines and horizontal band saws.
Must be able to lift 55lbs
