OVERVIEW:

Made-Rite Meat Products Inc was founded in 1995. The company's line of business includes the manufacturing of Jerky and Co-packers of Pepperoni snacks. We believe in providing our customers with products of the highest quality made by a selection of trusted brands including Grimm’s Fine Foods, McSweeney’s Premium Jerky and Meat Snacks.

Day Shift – 6:30 am to 3:00 pm

OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE

Reporting to the Plant Manager, responsible for planning, leading, and organizing day to day maintenance activities and ensuring an effective and competent team of Front-Line Leaders and employees contributing to meet departmental productivity goals and quality standards. Ensure steam and refrigeration equipment is in compliance with BC Safety Authority.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leadership/coaching of maintenance personnel through pro-active communications, employee involvement, participation, individual feedback, and appraisal.
• Maintains a current knowledge of all sanitation, refrigeration, packaging and storage equipment, machines and devices used to produce, package, handle, store, and ship products made at the plant
• Maintain a high standard of sanitation, housekeeping and cleanliness within the maintenance shop and related equipment areas within the facility.
• Provides professional advice regarding the repair and maintenance of all machines and equipment.
• Responsible for the ordering of all parts and maintaining parts inventory, creating POs, and submitting all supporting documents when order arrives.
• Ensures preventative maintenance is completed on all equipment.
• Trouble shoots equipment in breakdown situations to ensure production efficiencies are achieved.
• Provides training to maintenance & plant staff as required.
• Works with all trade’s groups to complete project assignments. Deals with vendors & engineering as required.
• Develops appropriate schedules, staffing and material requirements.
• Prepare yearly maintenance and capital budgets.
• Track monthly expenses accurately.
• Maintain in good repair all production, packaging, storage, shipping and material handling equipment and machines as well as the physical plant.
• Ensure that all work is performed safely, while following OH&S, WCB and Company regulations and procedures.
• Other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Electrician – Red Seal or Engineer
• Must be able to communicate in English both oral and written.
• 1 - 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role
• Excellent in diagnosing and problem solving.
• Food industry experience is an asset.
• PLC training and experience an asset.
• Excellent trouble shooting and analytical skills.
• High level of self motivation, initiative, and flexibility
