Position: Maintenance Supervisor and Equipment Operator

Job Description:
We are seeking a hands-on leader to join our agricultural team as a Maintenance Supervisor and Equipment Operator. This pivotal role is integral to the smooth operation of our farm, responsible for overseeing equipment maintenance and ensuring optimal performance for plasticulture farming.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team, providing guidance and support to ensure adherence to safety protocols and efficient operation of machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, perform routine maintenance, and carry out timely repairs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment efficiency.
- Operate a variety of farm machinery to support day-to-day farming activities, demonstrating proficiency and ensuring proper utilization of equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs, as well as inventory of spare parts and supplies.
- Collaborate with farm management to develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
- Monitor and evaluate equipment performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Uphold a culture of safety and operational excellence, promoting awareness and compliance with safety regulations among team members.
- Potentially oversee and manage irrigation systems, demonstrating a clear understanding of cultural irrigation techniques such as pumps, drip tape, and plasticulture farming.
Requirements:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience in equipment operation and maintenance within an agricultural setting.
- Knowledge of agricultural irrigation practices, including experience with pumps, drip tape, and plasticulture farming.
- Previous experience in large-scale farming operations, demonstrating an understanding of the complexities and demands of agricultural production.
- Basic administrative skills are essential.
- Proven leadership abilities, with the capacity to effectively supervise and motivate a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
