The Maintenance Supervisor will be based out of our new Port Coquitlam, BC, fluid processing facility and report to the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Supervisor will ensure all building systems, including mechanical, electrical, computer aided equipment are maintained for peak performance. In this position you will collaborate with many departments such as production, planning, and quality to coordinate preventative maintenance activities to ensure minimal downtime while following all food safety and health and safety protocols.
How you will make contributions that matter...
  • Supervise unionized, hourly, skilled trade employees including Millwrights, Electricians, PLC Instrumentation Mechanics, etc.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships by working closely with maintenance staff to ensure proactive communication with employee participation and feedback.
  • Work with various Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to ensure all equipment is scheduled for Preventative Maintenance (PM) and other maintenance as needed.
  • Accurately input all work orders, purchase inventory, and equipment inventory into CMMS.
  • Communicate with various departments including maintenance, production, and warehouse to ensure awareness and provide updates on maintenance issues, requests, and planned shutdowns.
  • Track maintenance requests and communicate back updates, solutions and/or results.
  • Maintain required contractor documentation including annual inspections, calibration records, food safety and contractor sign offs that provide services to the facility.
  • Accurate data collection to support and report on maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Control and monitor critical equipment and parts inventory.
  • Assist with planning and obtaining parts for non-scheduled and unexpected breakdowns.
  • Delegate work orders to maintenance teams.
  • Coordinate weekly shift schedule, overtime postings and approve weekly payroll.
  • Participate and support in future transition to SAP ERP software for the maintenance department.
  • Inspect and audit preventive maintenance work.
  • Participate in business planning meetings as required.
You are best suited for the role if you have the following skills, education, and experience:
  • Engineering Degree or Journeyman ticket.
  • Maintenance Management Professional Program (BCIT) or equivalent experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Proficient in MS Office computer applications, with an emphasis on MS Excel.
  • Experience or familiarity with the following software: MP2, FIXX, SAP.
  • Inventory management skills.
  • Maintenance planning skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Financial management experience (basic budget planning).
  • Availability to work afternoon shifts (Tuesday- Saturday (3pm-11pm).
