Steamworks Brewery is currently looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Burnaby.
This position will be responsible for conducting, maintaining, testing and repairing all building operation equipment. This includes but is not limited to; beverage production lines, brewing equipment, packaging machinery and building HVAC units.
This position will be primarily day shifts (9am-5pm or 10am-6pm). We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined and has experience working hands-on within a manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, set-up, monitor, inspect, troubleshoot, calibrate, and operate production/brewing equipment, specifically all HVAC and Boiler Equipment and related machinery
- Undertake scheduled and emergency repairs and maintenance of production and facility equipment
- Ensure that production employees have the tools and equipment available to them when needed
- Communicate any repairs and maintenance that may require outside contractors with supervisor
- Answer questions regarding operation of systems and equipment of entire facility
- Understand work order planning, scheduling and cost (material, resources, time) implications
- Conduct preventative maintenance to all machines
- Daily completion of all documentation including but not limited to; daily log, downtime detail report, completed work orders, material requisitions and maintenance work requests
- Work collaboratively with other departments to coordinate work and sharing of resources
- Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, good manufacturing practices, and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse and production areas
- Participate and assist brewery team members to meet operating objectives incorporating continuous improvements in all processes
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Required
- 5th Class Power Engineer Ticket (an asset)
- Brewery Experience (an asset)

- High mechanical aptitude
- Driven, self-motivated & task-orientated with strong attention-to-detail
- Experience and proficiency with hand and power tools
- Ability to make judgement calls independently when needed
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail oriented with the ability to keep accurate records
- Strong logistics, record keeping and time management skills
- Outstanding team player with excellent work ethic
