Job Overview
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and installing equipment in the facility while also ensuring that daily preventative maintenance tasks and repairs are carried out to meet production needs.
Scope of Role
- Maintain and repair machinery, equipment, electrical and mechanical systems
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment daily to identify any irregularities or malfunctions
- Adjust machinery and repairs or replace defective parts
- Repair or send for fabrication and install parts
- Clean, lubricate and perform routine maintenance
- Record keeping of maintenance manuals and spare parts
- Equipment-hour tracking and reporting
- Perform all functions according to safe work procedures and promote a safety culture
- Document work performed and complete daily checklists
- Complete records and forms accurately, ensures maintenance records are up to date and accurate
- Maintain good communication with vendors, fellow workers, Supervisors, and Managers
- Perform other duties as required
Required Competencies
- 3+ years of proven industrial or manufacturing facility experience
- Valid trades certification as millwright, fitter, mechanic preferred
- Experience using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) is an asset
- Proven ability to organize and plan daily tasks with minimal supervision
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Leadership ability to coach, mentor and train
- Ability to work flexible hours or be on call
- Physical ability to meet position demands
