What you'll do

Reporting directly to the Enterprise Cyber Security Associate Vice President responsible for Cloud Security, Data Protection and Application Security Services, you will lead and manage the Data Protection Services team across the Canadian Tire Enterprise.

  • Lead and manage the people, processes, and technologies for Data Protection Services, including:

    • Data Loss Prevention Controls

    • Data Discovery Scanning and Remediation

    • Data Encryption

    • Data Risk Exception process and attestations

    • Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB)

    • Insider Risk

    • Certificate Management

    • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Hardware Security Module (HSM) and Key Management

  • Report on Data Protection measures and metrics incorporated into broader Enterprise Risk Management.

  • Contribute to Annual Security Awareness Training.

  • Manage maintenance and day-to-day operations of Data Protection technical solutions.

  • Develop and manage Data Protection Services' roadmap and planning using the SAFe methodology.

  • Manage hybrid and multi-cloud Data Protection capabilities including Azure and Google Cloud Platforms.

  • Contribute to Data Classification and Data Lifecycle Management initiatives.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders on regulatory and compliance requirements.

  • Drive continuous improvement opportunities for effective and efficient Data Protection, including automation capabilities.

  • Manage the internal Data Protection team, providing coaching, professional development guidance, and support in annual performance activities.

  • Manage and provide oversight to the Data Protection Managed Security Services partner team to drive effective and efficient service outcomes.

  • Drive continuous improvement and maturation of Data Protection Service's practices, technologies, policies, and standards across design, build, and run phases.

What you bring

  • University degree or College diploma in technology or business-related discipline

  • 7+ years of related business experience

  • Strong knowledge of Data Protection and IT Security, including Certificate Management, Encryption, and Key Lifecycle Management.

  • Strong hybrid and multi-cloud experience is beneficial.

  • Experience in modern Data Protection, Certificate Management, Governance Risk and Compliance, and Security Operations Management for Data Protection technologies.

  • Experience with assessing, designing, or implementing modern Data Protection Programs and related capabilities.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical requirements for non-technical business partners to drive towards achieving strategic outcomes and enable informed decision-making.

  • Ability to clearly communicate written and verbal recommendations, articulating risks and trade-offs.

  • Experience partnering with and leading external vendors, including Managed Security
    Services teams.

  • Strong relationship management, consulting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional time management and self-management skills.

  • Ability to travel as required to other office locations such as Toronto and Calgary - minimal travel required.

  • CISSP, CCSP, CISA or CRISC designation is considered an asset.

  • Direct experience with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), PCI DSS, OSFI and PIPEDA are considered assets.
