The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of OCIs regulatory department and licensing activities which include: defining licensing objectives, risks and challenges, leading regulatory submissions, interpreting regulations, guidelines, materials and policies, developing and planning regulatory action items, and engaging and building relationships with internal and external interest groups and rights holders. The successful candidate will be an expert on regulatory topics and balances leadership responsibilities with mentoring and coaching team members.
Responsibilities:
-Provide regulatory strategy and guidance, including planning, scheduling and tracking related to timelines, actions and project milestones
-Lead the preparation and submission of regulatory submissions for life cycle mining, milling and project development
-Assess impacts of regulations; participate in reviews including regulatory change and compliance
-Coordinate contributions in the review of regulatory submissions
-Develop and update strategic planning document for regulatory actions, including the multi-year plan for Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission hearings/meetings.
Skills and Qualifications:
-Degree in an associated legal, political science, environmental, engineering or relevant discipline
-10+ years experience in a regulatory environment dealing with legislation or in a project management role
-Able to inspire, motivate, and influence others
-Able to co-ordinate activities, information and materials to meet deadlines
Work Location & Schedule:
-Saskatoon Corporate Office
-Regular travel for short periods of time to OCI sites and for regulatory meetings (e.g., Ottawa, Regina, etc.)
