If so, you may be the right fit for the Manager role supporting the Research and Development (R&D) and Technical Innovations team.

The R&D and Technical Innovations team is responsible for creating a proactive and value- added tax credits and incentives program, utilizing elements that provide information, analysis, tracking, and communications across all teams at TELUS. You'll help our domestic and international teams identify federal, provincial, state and global tax credits and incentives, quantify and qualify the potential tax opportunities, and increase eligible tax credits and economic incentives based on staying abreast with the relevant Income Tax Acts, tax authority policies, and relevant case law.

As the leader of some very talented business professionals, you will partner closely with the business unit's leadership team, as well as our technical program and finance partners, to help build our Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED), global R&D business tax incentives and other key innovation and financial deliverables for TELUS around the world. All this will influence key decisions and financial benefits across the TELUS Corporation.

What you'll do

• Lead the completion of SR&ED, (Canada), US and global R&D tax credit claims
• Build a new program for international R&D tax credit claims (US and various global), dealing with various TELUS businesses around the world
• As a highly motivated self-starter and thought leader, who has a diverse and broad skill set, and is flexible and collaborative in nature, you will work with all levels of leadership to ideate strategic results through the facilitation and delivery of high visibility and high impact results through programmatic approach
• Lead, motivate and support a team of high caliber professionals
• Foster an open communication environment to identify and implement areas for improvement to streamline workflows and optimize resource allocation
• Lead claim preparation and ensure claim defense strategies are effectively implemented and advocated during Tax Authority audits
• Lead projects, perform deep dive business analyses / investigations and present insights and conclusions to Director/VPs/EVPs to support financial decision making to help achieve our strategic priorities

What you bring

• Five or more years of experience leading a strategic, finance or enablement team, or seven or more years of experience providing, program management, business planning and financial operational and supervisory support as a high performing single contributor
• Experience leading and delegating tasks to high performing individuals.
• team player with a growth and collaborative mindset with a track record of building and developing cross-functional relationships
• Ability to present complex information in an easily understood manner andtailor the communication to diverse audiences to facilitate understanding
• Strong EQ, intellectual curiosity about technology, business insights, problem solving , advanced analytical and financial modeling skills
• Excellent time management, organization, and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Great to haves:

• University degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
• Prior experience with the SR&ED tax credit program, including preparing and supporting IT or software-based SR&ED claims
• Telecommunications/technology industry experience
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
• Professional Engineer
