Required skills:
1-2 Years Experience in Fibreglass and Gelcoat work
Repair fibreglass damage, both structural and non structural using VE and Epoxy Resin (fill, grind, laminate and fair)
Accurately color match and effectively spray gelcoat
Color match gelcoat and match nonskid patterns
Flexibility to perform other tasks when help in other areas of the shop is required. Such as some general mechanical applications. As well as bottom painting, detailing, polishing.
Assist the general manager as well as marine mechanics and other team members.
Able to work with service staff to assist developing estimates on required repairs to customer vehicles.
Recording customer information and accurately completing work orders and required documentation.
Able to work independently, with a high attention to detail as needed.
Meeting daily deadlines for ongoing jobs.
Keeping a tidy, organized, efficient work area.
Strong positive attitude and able to work with others.
Strong awareness of customer service skills.
Strong communication skills.
Strong understanding of Respect for people, and focused on team development.
Valid drivers’ licence.
Able to lift heavy objects, physically fit and healthy.
Able to move boats in the yard safely and independently using the boat mover.
Use forklift and other boatyard equipment.
Assist with maintaining a clean and safe shop Boat Yard.
Perform regular maintenance on tools and equipment
A lengthy background in the marine and/or powersport industry.
Asset is any experience in mechanics, metal work, marine fitting, pipefitting, plumbing, hydraulics, woodwork, or construction. Any experience working in the marine service industry including training or experience with tools and equipment used in marine maintenance.
