You are a reliable, self-assured Marine Service Technician (or related field) with a positive attitude that motivates those around you, and the confidence to perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of marine watercraft. You love to continuously learn and grow and are never afraid to roll up your sleeves to get the job done. You are a reliable, punctual hands-on learner who is excited to be a part of this growing team!
A Day In The Life
In this dynamic role, you will perform various duties related to marine vessel upkeep, including:
- Cleaning, repairing, and maintaining all parts of the boat or vessel
- Reading through repair and installation orders to determine the material, time, and equipment required
- Regular inspection and testing of engines, propellers, and steering mechanisms, as well as replacement of valves and bolts, as necessary (you will also be required to purchase the necessary tools and supplies)
- Removing and replacing rotted or rusted sections of the vessel
- Working on both outboard and inboard motors
- Testing engines, propellers, steering, and navigational equipment
- Liaising and consulting with the supervisor and other relevant professionals and vendors, as necessary
Your Qualifications
- A Marine Technician certificate or relevant experience
- Familiarity with M&P Mercury Marine products or interest in gaining this knowledge
- Pleasure Craft Operators Card is a bonus in this role
- Excellent customer service and verbal/written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and strong self-discipline
- Demonstrated strong hand-eye coordination and ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Practical experience with tools and equipment used in marine maintenance
