Guiding Interpretive Marine tours on the west coast of Vancouver Island by zodiac and covered vessels
Responsibilities and Duties
Duties
- Operate 12 passenger vessel – zodiac and covered vessels
- Knowledge required - whales, marine mammals, bears, rainforest ecosystem.
- Hosting clients pre / post trip and dealing with their concerns
- Medical checks and boarding procedures
- Prepare people for being on the water
- Check guest's floater suits are worn correctly:Operate marine activity in a safe manner
- Carry and know how to use all on-board equipment
- Wear a PFD at all times while on the water
- Lead group on interpretive boat tour
- Wash / Maintain / repair equipment
- Report vessel operation problems to supervisor
- Complete vessel log at end of day.

Salary: $19.00 to $30.00 /hour
Qualifications and Skills
Successful candidate for this guiding position will hold the following qualifications;
- SVOP
- Marine Emergency Duties A3
- Marine Basic First Aid
- Restricted Operator Certificate (GMDSS)
- Job Type: Full time seasonal
