The City of Mount Pearl is committed to the development of housing units designed to meet the needs of our changing population. In partnership with the Government of Canada, through the Housing Accelerator Fund, the City of Mount Pearl is building a plan to expedite the construction of almost 400 homes in the next three years. To do that, we are establishing a team of employees dedicated to housing growth and development who over the next three years will drive the city’s housing mandate and help create opportunities for more people to call Mount Pearl home. The Role

Reporting to the Manager of Marketing, Communications and Economic Development, the Marketing and Economic Development Officer contributes to and implements Economic Development strategies, marketing plans and programs to facilitate business and industry investment, retention and attraction; and interacts with business and stakeholders at a local, provincial, federal and international level to develop and maintain economic partnerships in alignment with the City’s vision, priorities, and business planning objectives.

The Ideal Candidate

Considerable experience in the areas of Marketing and Economic Development; supplemented by graduation with a university degree in marketing, economics, business administration, commerce, or a related discipline; or sufficient qualifications as determined by assessment. Knowledge of municipal government would be an asset.
