Marketing and Social Media Intern

We’re a jewelry company based in Vancouver - www.karayoo.com / @karayoo on instagram.

We are a sustainable demi-fine and fine jewellery brand. We design and produce pieces in our studio in Vancouver to sell on our website and wholesale to stores worldwide. We are a team of six that consists of the designer/owner, studio manager, and bench jewellers. We are looking for a like-minded individual - relaxed but competent, motivated and enthusiastic to help us with our marketing efforts. Creativity is a must and an experimental mindset is a huge plus.

This role is very flexible and autonomous, and a lot depends on your abilities, passions, and what you want to do. We want you to grow with our brand - we've experienced really rapid growth over the last 3 months, so for the right individual I think this is an amazing opportunity.

Here’s a range of what we are looking for help with (you do not need to have experience in all of these roles - if you could let us know how you could fit into these roles and which areas you are most interested in):

Content Creation
- maintain a backlog of ideas for posts/videos
- track what content is performing well for other brands / influencers

- photography (phone-based)
- flat lays, still life, on-model
- on-person (you!) shots

- video (phone-based)
- TikTok, Instagram reels / stories
- editing video (CapCut, Premiere Pro)
- producing video with a quick turnaround time
- being comfortable speaking in videos is a huge plus

- short form text (captions for instagram, newsletter, copywriting for website)
- long form text (brand journal, maybe longer form newsletters)

Influencer & collaborator outreach/management
- managing influencer relationships, seeding & gifting

Community management
- running in person events
- establishing a closer connection with our customers and creating more of a community
- connecting with our customers and helping our customers connect with each other

PR
- work closely with our PR agency to share what we’re working on and how to tell our story

Nice to Have
- graphic design experience
- video editing (especially with quick turnaround times)
- experimental mindset
- modelling experience
- willing to talk in front of the camera for videos
- personal style fit with our brand

Experience with tools we use:
- Figma
- Asana
- Google Drive
- Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop
- CapCut, premiere pro
- TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest

We also have another position open for a Social Media manager if you have more experience or are able to take on a larger role.

We're looking for 16-32 hours per week, but we can modify the role based on your availability.

This role is mainly in-person, but we can do some WFH days. If you’re remote and think you can offer something for us, we’re happy to chat.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $18.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
