Marketing Product Development Specialist 2

Annual salary: $ 75,800.00 - 81,700.00
What you'll do
- Develops and implements marketing plans and strategies for new and existing products by: analyzing and assessing
viability for various product strategies; determining product objectives, targets and strategies; presenting and
recommending product plans; developing product budgets and performance monitoring methods for approved product
development plans and initiatives; monitoring to ensure sales, promotion and product delivery targets and goals are being
achieved; discussing and modifying strategies and tactics with reporting manager to achieve goals as appropriate.
- Participates in and/or oversees with reporting manager the development and implementation of marketing plans for events
brand messaging and other factors; analyzing risks and financial viability for various product strategies; determining event
objectives, targets, strategies and budgets and performance monitoring methods; assists in the project management over
the planning, implementation and problem solving for events; reviews contractor and other invoices for payment.
- Provides ongoing performance measurement for various products by: analyzing revenues, expenses, sales activity, brand
reports, recommendations and makes presentations to Conservation & Energy Management (C&EM) staff regarding
product sales/promotion performance and/or weaknesses; discusses and modifies product delivery changes with product
delivery staff.
- Conducts and/or oversees market, technical research and/or pilots to support the development or study of new/revised
products accordingly; reviews and approves consultant invoices.
- Meets with various teams to discuss and ensure the strategic direction, processes, policies and procedures, brand
evaluations and studies; determines program evaluation, data capture, download, reporting and related requirements;
intervenes as required for assigned products to ensure targets and objectives are achieved.
- Discusses, analyzes and determines market segmentation data, reports and energy management related information
enhance and improve market and customer intelligence to support new and existing products.
- Maintains currency with product technologies, trade ally markets, customer segments; attends conferences, trade shows
- Provides technical direction to other workers participating on assigned Product Development and implementation projects;
- Performs minor duties related to the above duties, which do not affect the rating of the job.
What you bring
- Marketing, product planning and implementation, market research, statistics, promotional strategies and implementation,
techniques, analytical methods, budgeting, financial management and control methods, planning and organizing
procedures, methods and techniques, computer and related applications and modelling software, report writing knowledge
is typically acquired through completion of a university degree in Business Administration or Commerce with a marketing
major combined plus BC Hydro in house courses in the CDS platform and applications and internal financial planning,
management, control systems policies, procedures and practices.
- A minimum of 4 years experience in a progressively more responsible marketing position in a large organization involving
written, presentation and interpersonal communication, analytical and teamwork skills.
