Position
The position will be based on a 14-7 shift rotation and 10 hours/day. This schedule may be subject to change based on the needs of the client.
This position will be located at BHP Mine Site - Jansen, SK.
This is a camp-based position. Discovery Lodge at BHP is a state-of-the-art camp that includes the following amenities: full-service cafeteria, housekeeping, gym with a raised running track, library, and theatre.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote a healthy and positive safe working environment for the project by showing effective leadership and participation in safety related matters
- Manage company & client inventory systems, track spares and ensure proper preservation plans are in place to maintain critical spares
- Manage tool inventory system for the company and client; ensuring proper issuance and return of tools and maintenance of such tools
- Utilize company & client systems and policies, and work under minimal supervision, receiving goods, kitting of work orders / tickets, preparation of documents, physical inventories and maintenance of records including warranty tracking and follow-up where required
- Audit waste management systems and areas on site to ensure compliance with site policies
- Use company & client logistics systems and processes
- Responsible for maintaining facility maintenance equipment and tool crib operations
- Knowledge of the logistics terminology, measures, concepts and principles
- Exposed to processes that increase recognition regarding the impact that transportation/logistics has on various project objectives
- Assist in the preparation of logistics documents and maintenance of records
- Assist in the preparation of Requests for Quotations for logistics and freight forwarding services
- Assist in the tabulation and evaluation of transportation/logistics bids and planning for requirements for site access and safely loading and unloading
- Assist in the maintenance of transportation/logistics documents
- Continuous focus on efficiency, productivity and overall organizational effectiveness
- Actively participate in and promote a safe work culture
- Any other such duties as may be determined by your reporting manager
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma
- Excellent time management skills, ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills are required, verbal and written
- Strong experience with MS Office software
- Strong ability to organize effectively, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly
- Leadership skills, including ability to handle both internal and external conflicts
