Materials and Purchasing Coordinator - CFF Stainless Steels Inc.
CFF Stainless Steels Inc. is a multi-line steel distributor based in Hamilton, Ontario, catering to the food, chemical, steel fabrication, and architectural industries for over 40 years.
The Materials and Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating consistent flow of Materials and ensuring there is appropriate inventory for assigned product for production and distribution of stainless steel products. The Materials and Purchasing Coordinator will proactively review inventory reports, place purchase orders, and maintain material information and inventory records to ensure that customer orders are fulfilled on time.
This position requires frequent, dynamic interaction through face-to-face contact, email and phone communications. The successful candidate must be able to respond and adapt quickly in a changing environment and professionally manage frequent interruptions to planned work activities.
The duties and responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Data and inventory analysis
- Manage flow and inventory of material between different building and sites.
- Monitor Inventory for quantities, current costs and sales.
- Complete daily inventory transactions including inventory transfers, purchases on inventory products, review inventory reports.
- Process purchase requests following policy guidelines.
- Prepare price quotations.
- Utilize ERP system to place purchase orders for inventory items.
- Issue purchase orders for non-stock items based on internal requests.
- Complete and process international purchase orders
- Resolve delivery and other problems with suppliers.
- Follow up on all back orders.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Plan, Oversee and participate in the materials management operations and activities.
- Work within approved budget for all Materials and products
- Drive continuous improvement of the supplies movement and inventory level optimization to minimize errors, align with strategic initiatives and improve efficiency
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ experience supply chain, purchasing or warehouse/ distribution operation.
- Customs knowledge is an asset.
- Understanding of Good Distribution and Good Warehousing Practices
- Experience in a steel distribution is an asset.
- Strong communication skills written and verbal (English) Bilingual an asset.
- Ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced company environment; ability to work autonomously; flexible to adjust workload based on changing priorities.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $55,000.00-$59,000.00 per year
