Summary
We are recruiting for a Materials Handler/Parts and Counter SalesSummer Student for a 4-month term (May – August) for our Fort St. John location. Reporting to the General Manager, Peace Region, the successful candidate will work within a team in our shipping/receiving and inventory areas to provide support to internal and external customers.
Role and Responsibilities
- Handle incoming, outgoing and internal deliveries
- Pick customer orders and package outgoing shipments
- Maintain inventory/stock and conduct stock counts, as required
- Perform computerized data input on various operating systems
- Service products requiring rebuilding or part change-outs
- Assist Service Technicians with job preparations such as drawings, programming and parts assembly
- Provide troubleshooting expertise or refer to appropriate internal expertise
- Interface with existing and new customer applications, typically with telephone support, to provide assistance on products and solutions selection
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
Qualifications and Skills
- Attending a post-secondary institute in the fall; preferred (but not limited to) Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or Instrumentation Engineering Technology
- Comprehensive computer skills
- Superior customer service skills
- Accuracy and detail-oriented
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team, as well as independently
- Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
- Physical requirements: Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.; standing for long periods
