Reporting to the Manager - Strategic Sourcing & Materiels Distribution, the Material Management Assistant is responsible for carrying out the daily operating functions of the Material Management Department including, but not limited to: Stores functions, Shipping/Receiving, Distribution, and Supply Top-Up.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Minimum Secondary School Graduation Diploma
- Knowledge and experience in Material and inventory management
- Preference will be given to those with knowledge of VIRTUO Materials Management software, receiving, shipping, top up processes and general knowledge of materials management operations in a hospital setting
Skills/Abilities:
- Good communication, customer service, organization and mathematical skills required, with the ability to learn quickly in a high paced, productivity demanding position
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize is required
- Must be physically fit, able to safely lift and transfer up to 50 lbs.
- Intermediate level computer knowledge and experience required
- Attention to detail a necessity
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Assets:
- Experience with computerized inventory management, distribution and control an asset
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
