Maternal Fetal Medicine Sub-specialist, Assistant/Associate Professor 
Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, IWK Health, Nova Scotia Health & Dalhousie University
 
Applications are invited for the full-time position of Maternal Fetal Medicine sub-specialist in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, IWK Health, and Dalhousie University. This position is part of a group practice, located at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will also take up a continuing academic appointment with Dalhousie University, with academic rank dependent upon qualifications and experience.
 
This position reports to the Department Head. The successful candidate will possess Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or equivalent certification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and will be eligible for, or possess, RCPSC or equivalent certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Preference will be given to candidates able to start the position in 2024. 
 
Responsibilities
In addition to clinical responsibilities, the successful candidate will be expected to: contribute to the university teaching program; conduct or participate in clinical, biomedical, or population research; work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues in the MFM Division and Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology; and assume some administrative responsibilities. The Department will give preference to applicants with experience and expertise in all clinical activities relevant to Maternal Fetal Medicine, in particular Fetal Medicine, as well as a demonstrated aptitude and interest in research and teaching.
 
Dalhousie’s Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology have a Clinical and Academic Funding Plan (C/AFP) and physicians will be compensated as part of the practice plan.
