Responsibilities:
- Time manages daily activities to meet required deadlines of job order combined with verbal collaboration with supervisor, including following prints, diagrams, and manufacturing information sheets.
- Assemble and mount mechanical and sub-assembly components on to structures etc., by following standard layouts.
- Plan and carry out assembly work from drawings, pick list, and bills of material provided by engineering.
- Carry out mechanical assembly – build new, troubleshoot, repair or modify units.
- Communicate with Supervisor and other assembly personnel in order to solve issues.
- Assist other employees as required.
- Observe safe working practices and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Accurately complete checklists as required to meet deadlines.
- Assemble enclosures/structures where applicable.
- Support inventory maintenance by performing cycle counts and following standard materials management procedures.
- Perform all job functions with adherence to ELS's Philosophy and Values as well as the Safety and Environmental standards
- Demonstrates workmanship, organizational skills, repeatability in all tasks given.
- Use your knowledge of the standard practices, tools and terminology to completed related assembly work.
- Use specified tools to measure tolerances and torque values when building sub assembly.
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience in a mechanical assembly or related position in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with mechanical assembly, material handling equipment and manufacturing an asset.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and understand technical data.
- Previous experience working in elevated areas.
- Competent with hand tools and torque wrenches and screwdrivers. Able to drill and tap holes in steel backplanes.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, and safety procedures of a manufacturing facility.
- Various safety training, such as, working at heights, Scissor Lift, Forklift, Rigging and others, current license an asset.
- Proficient computer skills including electronic mail and logbook documentation.
- Able to efficiently operate a smartphone.
- Team player as well as self-motivated and be able to motivate others.
- Have a positive attitude, willingness to learn, take charge initiative, and change to suit Company needs.

- Good listener with effective communication – written and oral skills.

- Usually works a standard forty-four (44) hour work week.
- May be required to work some overtime hours to attend meetings or meet organizational needs.

- Must be able to manage frequent interruptions and multiple tasks daily.
- Ability to travel to various plants, and lift from 25 to 50 pounds, walking and stairs.
- Sitting, working at desk/personal computer for extended periods.
