Job Overview

As an integral part of the Engineering and Design Department, the Engineer/Technologist will play a vital role in the ongoing product line expansion, including a wide variety of projects and assignments. Reporting to the Engineering Lead, the Engineer/Technologist will be required to produce design and detail developments, including both technical and shop drawings. Additionally, they will be responsible for the proper maintenance of all relevant engineering records.

Key Responsibilities
Design, Engineering, Drafting
The Engineer/Technologist’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
× Assist with the design and development of hydrovac equipment and systems as related to their manufacturing.
× Utilize relevant CADD software to create 3D models and technical drawings.
× Assist with design validations employing technical calculations and documentation.
× Update engineering documentation and specifications as per company procedures and policy.
× Develop and provide engineering documents to departments as required.
Additional Responsibilities
× Assist with research and development products.
× Participate in the design-review process.
× Other duties and tasks as required.
Qualifications
Experience
The ideal candidate will provide demonstrable experience in the following areas:
× 1-5 years practical experience in Design and Drafting.
× Employing 3D-modeling software (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
× Autodesk Factory Design suite and Navisworks.
× AutoCAD Mechanical software.
× Foundational computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), as well as file management and data entry.
Education
× Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technologist Diploma.
Certifications
× Must be eligible for registration with APEGA as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or with ASET as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET).

Working Conditions

× Work is typically conducted in an office environment, and assistance will be provided to attend to good ergonomic practices.
× Visits are required to the manufacturing facility, which may be noisy and dusty, and present hazards requiring Personal Protective Equipment. Safety footwear is required; all other PPE will be provided.
There are opportunities to work in a hybrid fashion, with regular attendance at our offices.
