Technical Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in the mechanical industry – prior experience in a similar Special Projects role is a distinct advantage.
  • Interprovincial (Red Seal) Plumbing & Gas B Certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, quality management and Occupational Health & Safety best practices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of British Columbia Plumbing Code (BCPC)
  • Computer literacy

Daily Responsibilities

  • Work within a fast-paced environment – with a full scope spectrum of plumbing installations from ground works to drainage, gas piping to hydronic systems. Navigate complex tasks independently or as part of a team.
  • Be prepared to travel between multiple sites weekly.
  • Be familiar with time management.
  • Meet or exceed the required production standards.
  • Serve as the liaison between our superintendent and our field team to ensure compliance with construction drawings, specs, and code/quality standards.
  • Monitor the work performance and efficiency of field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project plans and schedules are followed effectively and within the budget.
  • Plan the mechanical components of a construction project and prepare a construction schedule in partnership with the superintendent.
  • Review the budget and the underlying estimate to understand the project and plan ahead to avoid cost overruns and/or project delays.
  • Advise senior management of potential problems, work interferences, or schedule difficulties while assisting in resolving these conflicts
  • Anticipate problems or challenges, propose innovative solutions, and ensure solutions are consistent with project objectives.
