Job description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Tradesperson to join our team at Lake Utopia Paper based in St. George, New Brunswick.

We operate four Pulp and Paper Mills out of Saint John and St. George, New Brunswick that produce a combined 1 Million Tonnes of Product and employ over 1000 employees.

Requirements:
  • Mechanical Technician or Journeyperson
  • 3-5 years related industry experience
  • Personal drive
  • Initiative to learn and be involved
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently and in a team environment
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, inspect, repair, troubleshoot, advise and maintain mechanical systems
  • Interface with production personnel and technical staff within maintenance and suppliers
  • Responsible for the development, enhancement and execution of standard reliability practices for the plant physical assets to insure long term reliability and availability
  • Promote and participate in maintaining high standard around safety and housekeeping
  • Participate in mill initiatives that help achieve our business goals
  • Take ownership of the process and its associated equipment
  • Required to take on-call rotations throughout the year as needed
