MEDIA ASSISTANT / DIT / PA - WHITEHORSE
Whitehorse, Yukon contract position
Non-union, freelance for documentary televisions series, small crew
Rate negotiable based on experience
Range $20 / hour (entry level) to $300+/ day based on experience
Part-time - Estimating +/- 30 hours / week, flexible hours, mostly evenings
Starting Date: January 8th or 15th, 2024
End Date: approx. March 2024 (to be confirmed)
Responsibilities:
- Downloading and backing up shot media (training will be provided)
- Driving and running errands, purchasing supplies, organizing equipment
- Keeping track of petty cash receipts
- Scanning and filling releases
- Filing out the tape log, media tracker and daily production reports
- Stocking crafty for the crew
- Helping keep the production office and production vehicles tidy
- Assisting on shoots with releases, batteries, slating, greeking and mini-cams
- Shipping & communicating with production office
Requirements:
- Must be Whitehorse based, has lived in the Yukon for at least one year (paid 2023 taxes in the Yukon)
- Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Has a valid drivers license and a clean driving record
- Good and safe driver, minimum 21 yrs old, but 25 yrs old and over preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Written and spoken English
- Comfortable with Google drive, Google sheets, Google docs, and email
Beneficial Skills / Background / Assets:
- Has worked and/or has studied film or television production
- Laptop and cell phone
- Vehicle in good working order, insured to use for work
- Organized, reliable, diligent, proactive, resourceful, and attentive to details
- Able to handle multiple changing priorities
- Willingness to learn with a positive attitude
- Familiar with Shotput Pro, media management, mini-cams, and documentary film equipment would be a bonus
