Job Summary

The Membership Attendant serves the mission of the YMCA of Lethbridge at the Cor Van Raay YMCA by monitoring member access and private rentals, and by providing exceptional customer service. The main goals of this position are:

1. Supporting membership activation and facility rentals

2. Monitoring access into the Cor Van Raay YMCA and ensuring participants are following proper guidelines

3. Engaging with the membership base to ensure a high level of customer service

Key Relationships

· Membership and Rentals Coordinator

· Assisted Membership Coordinator

· All Cor Van Raay YMCA membership and rentals staff and volunteers

· YMCA of Lethbridge members and facility users

Nature & Scope

The Membership and Rental Attendant will support the membership and rental department. The responsibilities for this position are, but not limited to:

· Committing to exceptional quality of sales and services by providing excellent customer service and timely responses to all member and facility users, while communicating any unresolved concerns from participants to management

· Completing general membership tasks including opening/closing the facility, cleaning lists and cash-outs

· Maintaining and updating the user database with accurate and detailed information

· Supporting membership growth and retention to achieve strategic goals and targets

· Supporting the set-up and take down of facility spaces and equipment, ensuring scheduled events start and end on time

· Monitoring facility activities while ensuring participants are following YMCA of Lethbridge policy and procedures

· Providing an enjoyable experience to users while building positive relationships with members, participants, volunteers, and other YMCA Staff

· Demonstrating ‘SAM Standards’ daily throughout the facility

· Attending all required YMCA training, recertifications and in-service trainings

Physical/Special Demands

· This position involves prolonged standing

· This position includes the ability to lift 20 kg

Qualifications and Experience

· 1 year experience in a customer service and/or sales related industry

· Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills

· Evidence of an acceptable Police Information Check

· Evidence of an acceptable Child Intervention Check

· Three professional references required
