Mental Health Aide

Your Opportunity:

This Mental Health Aide - Consumer Support Worker position requires a highly motivated individual that is keenly interested in working with people. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are large contributors to success in this position. The successful applicant would work collaboratively with Assertive Outreach Clinicians, Addiction Counselors, and/or Mental Health Therapists to support addiction and Mental Health clients. You are a team member that works with professional staff (a primary Care Manager) to support the development, implementation, and delivery of the client relevant treatment plan as guided by the Clinician/Therapists/Counselors. You have an understanding of Mental Health and addiction issues, being self-motivated and able to work independently, at times are keys to further success in this position. This position reports to the Manager, Community Addiction & Mental Health, Central Zone - South East.

Description:

As a Mental Health Aide, you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team to provide a welcoming and safe care environment. You will assist in the provision of direct patient/client care as delegated in a person-centered, recovery oriented and safe manner. In this position, you will assist and / or promote independence to patients/clients in completing activities of daily living as well as assisting other health professionals with providing treatments and observing and reporting relevant patient/client information to professional staff. You will assist new patients/clients and families with orientation, and assist in the general support of the work area.
