The Copper Mountain mine currently produces approximately 100 million pounds of copper equivalent per year. With a future mill expansion and the integration of New Ingerbelle, the Copper Mountain Mine is expected to produce approximately 140 million pounds of copper equivalent per year over the first 20 years of its 32-year mine life based on reserves. The Opportunity:
Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Mine Accountant at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5x2, Monday to Friday, day shift schedule.
Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position.

Location
Copper Mountain Mine is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors. Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.
Summary
Reporting to the Mine Controller, the Mine Accountant is responsible for capital project management, asset management, lease accounting, and compliance with internal and external accounting policies, procedures, and regulations of the company. This role is a key partner in assisting with the preparation of the capital budget for potential acquisitions and site capital projects.
Responsibilities

• Assist with the month-end close process and preparation of monthly reporting,
• Maintain and distribute Capital Projects Report,
• Review of all approved budgeted and unbudgeted AFE's,
• Assist in the creation of AFE's into software,
• Regular review of projects with Project Manager, identifying project completion, overages, etc.
• Move CIP to asset ledger upon project completion,
• Capital forecasting, budgeting, and monthly & quarterly reporting,
• Regular audit of mobile equipment,
• Maintain asset ledger for completeness, dispositions, acquisitions, and depreciation,
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or related field preferred,
• CPA designation preferred,
• Minimum 5 years' accounting, capital project management, asset management, and reporting experience,
• Experience working in an industrial setting is an asset,
• Experience using an ERP or accounting software as well as advanced MS Office excel skills,
• Possess a valid driver's license

Working Conditions

• Work consists of a team environment with regularly scheduled and ad-hoc meetings,
• Frequent exposure to sitting at a computer doing work online,
• Role may operate in a potentially stressful environment caused by constant requests from several people causing uncertainty and ambiguity.

Rate of Pay
$75K - $85K / annum.
