YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:


Reporting to the Principal Ground Control Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department. You will provide technical support to the various entities within the mine in respect to Ground Control requirements. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Conduct daily underground mapping for lithology and structures;
  • Ensure the timely and accurate digitization of mapping data into Deswik and/or Leapfrog;
  • Work with geology departments on site to interpret and update litho and structure models;
  • Plan and coordinate for the geotechnical data collection program. For example, drilling, Geotech logging, ATV survey, and material property testing etc;
  • Active participation in all forms of communication between Geology, Technical and Operational personnel to ensure collaboration and consistency is achieved;
  • Ensure any applicable regulations are followed;
  • Perform other duties, as required;
  • Overseen by Principal Ground Control Engineer for status progress accompaniment;
  • Constant communication with all other departments with underground exposure to ensure all safety protocol are followed and understood in relation to Ground Control.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • Eligible GIT or P.Geo preferred;
  • Strong appreciation and capability in structural & production geology;
  • 2 years plus in gold and underground;
  • Strong computer and data skills (Data Mine, Fusion, Deswik, Leapfrog, DH Logger);
  • Accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Continuous improvement abilities;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Reliable and self-managing;
  • Other work as directed from time to time;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

  • Schedule: 4/3 schedule at our Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON.
