Our Client:
A North American leader in integrated piping product design and manufacturing. Renowned for their extensive product range and commitment to quality, they're seeking a talented Network and Security Engineer to join their growing team in Oakville or Montreal.
About the Role:
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the company's critical IT infrastructure and ensuring seamless network operations. You'll leverage your expertise in Network & Security best practices to develop, implement, and manage robust Network & Security solutions that are resilient and protect against cyber threats.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure network architecture for optimal performance and scalability
- Configure and administer routers, switches and access points
- Configure and administer firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other security tools
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate security risks
- Monitor network activity for suspicious behavior
- Manage user access controls and establish security policies and procedures
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and diagnose network performance problems
- Stay up-to-date on emerging cyber threats and implement necessary security updates
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure network security aligns with business objectives
- Document network configurations, security policies, and procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5+ years of experience in a network and security role
- Experience with Cisco Routing & Switching, Cisco DNA, Cisco ISE, Cisco ACI
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing Network & Security solutions
- Strong understanding of network security concepts (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, etc.)
- Experience with Network & Security tools and technologies (e.g. Checkpoint, Fortinet, Firewall Analyzer tool)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines
- A valid Canadian work permit and authorization to work in Canada
- Hybrid, 2 days per week in office
