Welcome to Vista Radio, we are currently hiring a Local News Reporter/Presenter in our Kemptville / Prescott Moose FM newsroom. If you live in the area or want to move to the area and have a passion for capturing stories that matter and telling those stories, then you should apply.
In storytelling, the details matter. And you will use your detail-oriented, accurate approach to find, create, and tell stories from the community in a news content environment.

Description:

• Be an active part of the local community
• Craft and voice a local and regional newscast
• Researching and writing news stories for online and on-air broadcast
• Reading local news for on air, as required
• Contributing to and updating websites
• News audio and video production

Key Requirements:

• We promote training and development, experience working in a newsroom or equivalent journalism background is an asset
• You offer strong verbal and written communication skills
• You should have solid on-air delivery skills with a desire to learn and improve
• Conversational storytelling skills are a bonus
• Dedicated to being organized
• You have the ability to watch, learn and absorb the knowledge and put it to work as a self-starter
• There are deadlines and you know how to remain calm under pressure to meet those deadlines
• You must have a valid driver's license
• Working familiarity with Adobe Audition, Newsroom and on-air software
