Non Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you are responsible for inspection of in-situ and new-construction areas within a brownfield environment. Working with the engineering team, you will have a detailed understanding of the scope and proactively solve problems in the field to ensure the safe and efficient completion of detailed inspections.

Role Description

• Validate repairs meet specifications
• Inspect existing equipment and structures to quantify current in-situ condition
• General inspection completed works to assess compliance with specifications
• Use rope access techniques and equipment to safely access inspection areas when required
• Use of drones and/or other technology to safely inspect otherwise inaccessible areas
• Attend daily coordination meetings with relevant internal and client representatives
• Complete detailed daily shift reports and progress reports
• Other related duties as assigned by your supervisor

Requirements

• Unwavering commitment to health, safety and environmental protection
• 5+ years of demonstrated excellence in progressive roles in the industrial construction industry
• CWB Level 2 Weld Inspector
• CGSB UT2 Certification
• CGSB PT2 Certifications
• CGSB MT2 Certifications
• IRATA Level 1 Certification or willingness to obtain
• Professional technical designation (EIT, PTech, P.Eng, CET etc...)
• Fluent in English. Fluency in French is a definite asset
• WorkplaceNL Fall Arrest and Confined Space certifications are an asset
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with an above-average level of computer literacy

Please note that you will be required to work in an industrial environment. This may include working at heights, dirty/dusty and noisy environments, and confined spaces. All personal protective equipment and site-specific training will be provided. Satisfactory pre-employment verifications to satisfy internal company policies, client site requirements, and the requirements of our insurers are pre-requisites of employment including but not limited to an acceptable drivers abstract and pre-employment drug & alcohol testing.
