Nursing Staffing Manager – Delhi Long Term Care – NEW HOME OPENING 2025

peopleCare is looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as Nursing Staffing Manager of Delhi Long Term Care. This is an exciting one-of-a-kind opportunity to support the strategic growth of our home as we work towards transitioning from our existing 60-bed home to a brand new 128-bed facility in the winter of 2025.

THE ROLE

As a member of the peopleCare home leadership team, this position will provide strategic recruitment support to meet all staffing requirements for opening & building community capacity for a vibrant future in Delhi, Ontario.

Once recruitment needs have been met, this position will act as the initial contact representing the corporate mission, vision, and values to all peopleCare Delhi LTC Nursing Staff team members both internally and externally. This position will also ensure confidentiality of all financial, personnel, and resident data while assisting the Director of Care in managing the staffing requirements of the home.

Reports to: Executive Director (Winter 2024 – HOME OPENING), Director of Care (HOME OPENING onwards)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Winter 2024 to Home Opening

Recruitment/Retention

· Works closely with departmental managers to identify staffing needs and establish position requirements and provides guidance and support throughout the recruitment process.

· Develops and executes comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract skilled nursing professionals using various channels, including online job boards, social media, networking events, and partnerships with educational institutions.

· Develops and maintains positive relationships with candidates, ensuring a positive candidate experience.

· Plans and executes recruitment events, including job fairs, open houses, and informational sessions.

· Sources and screens candidates through resume reviews, interviews, and assessments.

· Possesses a thorough understanding of candidates' qualifications, experience, and alignment with our organization's values.

Employer of Choice

· Enhances the organization's reputation as an employer of choice within the community and senior care industry.

International Foreign Workers Partnership

· In collaboration with the Executive Director, hires and onboards Internationally Educated Nurses.

· In collaboration with the Executive Director, develops innovative housing solutions for staff.

Onboarding/Orientation

· Collaborates with HR and departmental managers to ensure a seamless onboarding process for new hires.

· Facilitate orientation sessions and provides ongoing support to new employees.

· Prepares regular reports on recruitment activities for leadership.

Home Opening Onwards

· Oversees the day-to-day, and future staffing requirements for nursing department within the home.

· Develops and maintains nursing schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.

· Fosters open communication with nursing staff, addressing concerns, and maintaining a positive work environment.

· Collaborates with HR to handle staffing-related challenges.

· Monitors and analyzes staff attendance.

· Collaborates with leadership to enhance overall quality of care through effective staffing practices.

  • Accountable for processing bi-weekly timesheets for nursing department and reviewing payroll variances in a timely manner.

· Acts as the education coordinator for the home and ensures that training is completed.

· Collaborate with HR and unions to manage labour relations within the home, including grievances.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • College/university diploma/degree in Human Resources or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in Human Resources an asset.
  • Experience in Long Term Care an Asset
  • 2-3 years of recruitment experience preferred.
