We are currently looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our team!
We have been specializing in the use of Contemporary Applied Behaviour Analysis in Calgary for over 25 years. Our style of ABA is compassionate, flexible, responsive and individualized to each unique child and family that we serve. The Occupational Therapist is part of a multi-disciplinary team that works with young children (2-8 yrs old), parents, and aides in both a direct and consultative manner. You will collaborate with family and team members to design and implement evidence-based strategies to meet each child’s individual goals in the areas of motor skills, self-help, play and leisure and adaptive functioning. Ongoing professional development and training in Contemporary Applied Behaviour Analysis is provided.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Client assessment and treatment (direct and consultative)
- Development of evidence-based, individualized treatment programs for clients, with ongoing evaluation of client progress in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team
- Documentation to support goal planning and ongoing evaluation of client progress
- Supervision, support, and training for parents and aides in implementation of recommended strategies Identification of treatment materials to support client’s treatment goals.
- Travel to our office and family homes within the City of Calgary
- Attendance at monthly meetings with the multidisciplinary team, case conferences, program review meetings with parents, and periodic interaction with government agencies, tracking of service hours, and preparation and submission of time sheets for services rendered.
POSITION:
- Contract position with Potential for Permanent position
- FTE: 0.7 daytime position minimum of 28 hours/week (Days are flexible but require 4 days per week and availability between 8:30am-5:00pm)
- Employee preferred but would consider contractor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must love children!
- Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution
- Proof of registration with ACOT
- Experience working with preschool-aged children (experience working with children with autism and other disabilities is an asset)
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Critical thinker
- Ability to model recommended strategies to parents and aides.
- Fluent in English (written and oral) and excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of and/or experience with Contemporary Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) preferred but not required.
- Passionate, positive attitude and the desire to celebrate both big and small accomplishments.
- Emergency First Aid (CSA Standard Z1210-17 “basic first aid”) with Level C CPR certification
- Clear Police Intervention Check and Child Intervention Record Check
