Position Summary:

This role will focus on working with managers in BC & Crossfield on Daily, Weekly, and Monthly KPIs to deliver net profit/EBITDA in line with agreed expectations (Budget). In addition, in order to drive continuous improvements, will collect critical financial information, connect to operational KPIs and make suggestions and recommendations to VP & managers including but not limited to daily operational changes, Capital investments from time to time.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Support all the managers in BC & Crossfield to provide information and analysis to deliver agreed financial outcome.
  • Support all the managers to prepare ROI analysis for Capital project and follow-up for reviews of Capex outcome.
  • Deep understanding on company’s data base including SAP and Tableau to pull appropriate data/information.
  • Provide necessary information and comprehensive financial analysis to support decision making at operational level from Capital projects to day-to-day operations.
  • Standardize the operational KPIs, which enables to compare the costs structures across the farms and find opportunities to improve.
  • Review periodic financials with managers and provide deep analysis.
  • Support VP to prepare the government funding/grant opportunities.
  • Spend sufficient time on the floor and proactively find area of improvements.

Other Duties:

  • Facilitates improvement activities with other department managers and area supervisors.
  • Provide meaningful recommendations for continual improvement or innovation.
  • As reasonably requested in aid of Highline operations or culture compliance, perform any other duties that may be assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education & Past Experiences:

  • Strong finance background (minimum 5 years experiences) and interest in operations.
  • Ability to develop detail financial/operational model with sensitivity analysis to support decision making.
  • University Degree with a business, finance, or accounting focus
  • CPA designation or close to completion of CPA designation is an asset.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with SAP would be an asset.

  • Conducts themselves with professionalism and maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.

Other:

  • Eligible to work in Canada.
  • Fluent in written and verbal English, other languages are an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Working conditions are primarily in an office environment, with occasional field experience as required.
  • Must be capable of working in British Columbia and able to travel within Canada.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Weekend and/or evening and some holiday work, along with a willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to travel to Crossfield, Alberta on a regular basis (at least once a month).
