Job description

The Operations Trainer is responsible for educating and training Operations Personnel in the safe and effective operation of equipment and safe completion of the processes required by the corporation to achieve its objectives; coordinates with divisional Quality, Safety, and the General Manager to develop new training methods.

Accountabilities

  • Ensure all Operations Personnel follow company processes and company Safe Work Procedures and Practices
  • Ensure all Operations Personnel work within Company, Customer, and other existing standards and regulations pertaining to their scope of work.
  • Reporting and rectifying of potential hazards, accidents, and near misses
  • Perform Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRA)
  • Provide a daily report summary of work activities performed.
  • Develop and facilitateeducational tools and project specific training for new hires, employees receiving new project assignments, and customer personnel.
  • Track and organize training modules for each staff member. Follow training matrix documents to ensure all areas of training are covered and accounted for.
  • Provide ongoing training support to employees and build training plans where applicable.
  • Ensure that trainees comprehend and demonstrate rules taught in training, competency checks are completed, and all documentation is submitted for personnel file.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Class 5 drivers license with three years of acceptable driving history.
  • Completion of Pumps 100, 101, 201, and 301 courses
  • Background in Quality Assurance
  • Background in Personnel Training or Coaching
  • Demonstrated knowledge on existing quality standards and regulations.
  • Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of Operations and Production that may pose hazards.
  • Highly accurate verbal and written skills
  • High level of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint expertise.
  • Site specific Orientations
  • Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training
  • Global Harmonized System (GHS)
  • Must participate in and pass screening tests for drugs, alcohol, and other controlled substances.

Work Environment

  • General office environment
  • Work is generally sedentary.
  • Occasional site visits
  • Occasional exposure to noisy, dusty, and/or wet environment
  • Occasional exposure to inclement weather conditions
  • Interactions with Management, Employees, customers, and other necessary contacts

Physical Demands

  • Able to work shifts up to 12 hours long.
  • Capable of moving over and around obstacles
  • Capable of lifting large or heavy loads sometimes up to 18 kg

  • Chief Operating Officer – monthly
  • General Manager – will direct day to day
