Job description
We seek a skilled & qualified Ophthalmic Technician to join a team of eye care professionals in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Checking vision and eye pressure
- Taking slit lamp and fundus photos
- Performing auto refraction as well as pachymetry and topography
- Performing diagnostic testing including Humphrey visual field testing, OCT testing, UWF testing, etc.
- Performing biometry measurements for pre-operative patients including A scan and IOL Master
- Assisting with patient management including pre-charting and answering simple patient queries
- Ensuring sanitized lanes by wiping down rooms and equipment between patients
- Assisting in loading patients into rooms and opening the patient chart
- Ensuring lanes are fully stocked at beginning of day, and in orderly condition at end of day
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Excellent patient service skills
- IOL measurements
- OCT imaging, Corneal topography
- Working Experience with slit lamp/Applanation Tonometery is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to work and enjoy working in a high volume fast paced environment without compromising patient care or customer service
- Accuracy and attention to detail, both with charting and when taking patient measurements
- Comfortable with technologies such as EMR and digital imaging suite
- Comfortable with advanced diagnostic equipment
- Can work well and take instruction as part of a team, but can also work independently and with minimal supervision
