Role:
This position is responsible for supervising warehouse associates; training, scheduling, directing work, tracking performance and ensuring a safe working environment.
Role Responsibilities:
- Supervise warehouse associates in aspects of order selection, loading, shipping, replenishment, receiving, put away and/or stock rotation
- Manage and be actively involved in coaching, mentoring, career development, training, and performance management of associates to assist associates in consistently meeting company productivity and customer service standards
- Effectively schedule warehouse personnel to achieve productivity objectives within the warehouse
- Provide leadership and compliance on company safety programs, sanitation and loss prevention direction to warehouse associates
- Conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary action in conjunction with the Night Shift Manager
- Supervise good housekeeping practices and administer cost reduction action plans
- Performs other duties as assigned by Outbound Warehouse Manager.
- Ensure implementation of and compliance with all applicable regulations/laws and company policies, including but not limited to Food Safety Policy, SOP’s & regulations, Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, Antitrust policies and regulations, etc.
- Responsible for compliance with all Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) comprising Sysco’s Food Safety Program, specific for the assigned role.
- Assist Food Safety Program Manager in ensuring compliance to Sysco’s Food Safety Program that leads to compliance with third party certification and customer requirements.
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):
- Minimum 1 year supervisory experience, including pallet jack and forklift experience.
- High School diploma, post-secondary education an asset
- Must have WHMIS and a good understanding and working knowledge of SyscoSafe
- First Aid/ CPR training will be considered an asset
- Proficient with MS Word and Excel, IDS, SWMS, Selector Pro (SOS), and Loader Pro (SLS) an asset
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and effective group presentation skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Reliable, responsible, and accountable for appropriately managing confidential information
