Role:


This position is responsible for supervising warehouse associates; training, scheduling, directing work, tracking performance and ensuring a safe working environment.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Supervise warehouse associates in aspects of order selection, loading, shipping, replenishment, receiving, put away and/or stock rotation
  • Manage and be actively involved in coaching, mentoring, career development, training, and performance management of associates to assist associates in consistently meeting company productivity and customer service standards
  • Effectively schedule warehouse personnel to achieve productivity objectives within the warehouse
  • Provide leadership and compliance on company safety programs, sanitation and loss prevention direction to warehouse associates
  • Conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary action in conjunction with the Night Shift Manager
  • Supervise good housekeeping practices and administer cost reduction action plans
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Outbound Warehouse Manager.
  • Ensure implementation of and compliance with all applicable regulations/laws and company policies, including but not limited to Food Safety Policy, SOP’s & regulations, Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, Antitrust policies and regulations, etc.
  • Responsible for compliance with all Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) comprising Sysco’s Food Safety Program, specific for the assigned role.
  • Assist Food Safety Program Manager in ensuring compliance to Sysco’s Food Safety Program that leads to compliance with third party certification and customer requirements.

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):

  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience, including pallet jack and forklift experience.
  • High School diploma, post-secondary education an asset
  • Must have WHMIS and a good understanding and working knowledge of SyscoSafe
  • First Aid/ CPR training will be considered an asset
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel, IDS, SWMS, Selector Pro (SOS), and Loader Pro (SLS) an asset
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and effective group presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Reliable, responsible, and accountable for appropriately managing confidential information
