Main Purpose of the Job:
Encourages young families through a trauma informed lens as they pursue their OSSD. Provides therapeutic psychoeducational programming and a safe environment, which allows the opportunity for the participant to learn skills pertaining to their social and emotional health.

Duties and Responsibilities
Ability to travel between two classroom location
· Knowledgeable of the impact of trauma on a participant’s ability to be successful
· Demonstrate strong knowledge of how a history of trauma can impact an individual.
· Assists participants in their self-regulation and coping strategies.
· Builds on the participant’s self-awareness and self-esteem.
· Facilitates therapeutic group sessions.
· Demonstrates knowledge pertaining to mental health, addictions, healthy relationships, early childhood and attachment.
· Ability to navigate through the system to support the participant in barriers that they may experience.
· Awareness of the early significance of infant mental health
· Promote opportunities to encourage positive peer to peer interactions.
· Supports participants with extended family as it pertains to their own growth and development.
· Works in collaboration with community partners
· Organize and implement peer to peer education.
· Ability to consult with Outreach Manager and child care Supervisor regarding issues pertaining to child protection concerns.
· Possesses strong time management and organizational skills.
· Demonstrates a strong non-judgmental and therapeutic approach.

· To work collaboratively with school boards, Niagara Regional Public Health, and other applicable agencies
· Maintains appropriate documentation with consultation with the Outreach Manager
· Maintains client confidentiality.
· Demonstrate pursuit of continuing education/professional development
Qualifications:
· University or College degree in a social service field of study
· Minimum three (3) years of related experience
· Registered with OCSWSSW (Preferred)
· Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification (Preferred)
· First-Aid/CPR Certification
· Trained in ASQ (Preferred)
· References must be provided for the successful candidate.
Must have a reliable mode of transportation to fulfill travel requirements between locations
