About the position-

In this role, you will stay awake and alert throughout nighttime hours, providing necessary care, support, and supervision. Be prepared to promptly respond to any emergencies or situations that may arise during the night, take appropriate actions and adhering to established protocols, maintain accurate and timely documentation of activities, observations, and any incidents that occur during the night shift.

Education: Minimum 1 year of study in a related subject field (Developmental Service Worker, Community Service Worker, Psychology, Applied Behavioural Analysis, Criminology, etc.)

Experience: 1 year (Preferred)

Work Setting: Residential setting, working with individuals of all ages.

Wages:

  • Full time Overnight Awake starts at $23.00/hour
  • Weekend Overnight Awake starts at $20.50/hour
  • An extra $3.00 per hour permanent government wage enhancement, on top of existing hourly wages.

Target Groups or Residents: Our services support individuals of all ages, genders, and abilities, including those from culturally diverse backgrounds, and those with disabilities such as deafness/hard of hearing, blindness/visual impairment, intellectual, learning, and mental health disabilities.

Specific Skills:

  • Provide support to individuals with special needs
  • Evaluate resident's skills and development needs
  • Conflict resolution
  • Supervise resident’s, ensuring safety and security
  • Implement behavior management programs
  • Coordinate with social services and healthcare providers
  • Develop intervention models and outcome measures
  • Maintain program statistics for evaluation and research
  • Assist in evaluating treatment program effectiveness

Work Location: Orleans and the surrounding area.

This employment opportunity extends beyond the specified responsibilities. The employee may be required to undertake additional tasks as deemed necessary to fulfill the continuous needs of the agency.
