POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging & Imaging Informatics, the PACS Clinical System Administrator is responsible for the operational administration and network management of all Imaging Informatics servers and workstations for the NORrad Hospitals.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

ACTIVITY A:Maintain Systems and Operations

Ø Maintain password assignment function and processes.

Ø Manage user accounts and licenses.

Ø Perform daily back up process.

Ø Document and follow up on client complaints (Action Log).

Ø Maintain system stability and security.

Ø Act as NORrad/OCINet hospital expert on Imaging Informatics, digital x-ray, HIS/RIS integration, GPI Integration, DI-r Integration and teleradiology applications.

Ø Interface with Imaging Informatics Manager / PACS System Administrator and/or vendor applications trainer(s).

Ø Work with Imaging Informatics Manager / PACS System Administrator and vendor, and medial and technical specialists to develop training schedule.

Ø Train existing and new hospital personnel.

Ø Contact Imaging Informatics Manager / PACS System Administrator to resolve application issues.

Ø Participate and perform quality assurance procedures as it relates to Imaging Informatics equipment.

Ø ACTIVITY B: Training and Support

Ø Communication and marketing in order to gain acceptance of the Imaging Informatics systems to all physicians and hospital staff –presentations and information sessions on Imaging Informatics technology hospital-wide.

Ø Perform training for DI staff, Hospital Staff and physicians during implementation.

Ø Ongoing training of physicians and staff hospital-wide (ICU, ER, OR, etc.).

Ø Give in-services on concepts and operations.

Ø Participate in an “on call” roster for 24/7-support coverage.

Ø Technical and clinical resource to internal and external clients.

Ø Ongoing training for new personnel, new applications, referring physicians.

Ø Take the lead in solving Imaging Informatics issues and problems in Diagnostic Imaging and throughout organization.

Ø Responsible to train hospital personnel in each department and act as a point of contact to answer daily applications questions from NORrad hospital staff.

Ø ACTIVITY C: Project Management

Ø Sort out DICOM compatibilities.

Ø Liaise and plan with all contributors (Imaging Informatics vendors, modality equipment vendors, IT, all service organization, Diagnostic Imaging staff, hospital staff and physicians, hospital network administrator).

Ø Plan project timelines in consultation with all stakeholders.

Ø Deliver project objectives on schedule and within budget.

Ø Lead equipment evaluation and selection processes.

Ø Enable business plan by meeting filmless / paperless timelines.

Ø Order equipment, plan for storage and inventory.

Ø Work with the Manager of Imaging Informatics to create Gantt charts and negotiate steps with vendors, facilities, IT and users.

Ø Responsible for acceptance testing process and signs on behalf of hospital.

Ø Escalate problem resolution appropriately through Imaging Informatics Manager and Imaging Informatics Director.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Ø Knowledge of how a PACS System functions as it relates to Spoke, HUB, HIS/RIS, GPI and DI-r interoperability.

Ø Knowledge of DI/PACS Workflow.

Ø Previous experience as a PACS Administrator would be an asset.

Ø Imaging Informatics Education / Courses would be an asset.

Ø Must be registered with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario, or have a combination of IT and Clinical experience / training.

Ø Must possess the ability to perform your responsibilities, which require the precise attainment of strict limits, tolerances and standards and to make independent decision to ensure optimal patient care and efficient operation of the department.

Ø Must possess the verbal ability to communicate orally with patients, physicians and other medical personnel in order to give and receive information or instructions and to write clear and accurate technical reports.

Ø Must possess the physical capacity to perform medium work, requiring lifting and positioning of equipment and patients and the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.

Ø Ability to think analytically in order to troubleshoot complex network, hardware or software related issues.

Ø Bilingualism (French and English) would be considered an asset.

Ø Must have one COVID-19 vaccination.
