Park Attendant

Yukon Parks welcomes more than 85,000 visitors a year to our system of parks campgrounds and recreation sites. Together, our team strives to ensure that all visitors enjoy their stay and depart with great memories. Park Attendants play a vital role in our program by ensuring that our facilities and grounds are clean, safe, and always ready to be enjoyed.

This posting is for three seasonal positions, working 80 hours bi-weekly, usually starting from mid-April to early October for the role of Park Attendant in the Yukon communities of Whitehorse and Teslin Region.

Your role

As a Park Attendant, you will be responsible to provide custodial services and basic maintenance in area campgrounds and recreation sites for use by the general public.

Our ideal candidate is committed to maintaining the highest standards in safety, client satisfaction, productivity, and quality of work. This is a physically demanding outdoor-based position that will need to load and unload large quantities of firewood by hand on a daily basis and works in all weather conditions. Essential Qualifications

  • Experience performing custodial services.

  • Experience performing minor maintenance and repairs to buildings/facilities.

  • Experience providing client service to the public.

  • Experience operating chainsaws and brush saws is an asset.

  • Experience working independently in remote areas is an asset.

  • Ability to self-direct work.

Additional Information

The incumbents of these positions are expected to work weekends and report from their headquarters area. This is a reoccurring seasonal position that enjoys leave benefits as well as extended health care options.



Conditions of Employment: Valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s license.



Job Requirements: Physical work in outdoor remote settings, including weekends and holidays, in all weather conditions.
