Reporting to the Parks Supervisor, the City of Moose Jaw is seeking an individual to perform supervisory, operations and maintenance duties.
Some duties this position will perform are:
Assist in maintenance program specific to cemeteries
Maintenance and operation of irrigation and spray park systems
Assist in execution of weed and pest management plan
Operation and maintenance of City vehicles and equipment
Ensure burial permits, work orders and requests for service are completed in an accurate and timely manner
Ensure quality customer service to all guests and clients
Physical ability and knowledge to supervise and perform a variety of fully skilled and manual tasks such as opening and closing of graves and cremations, planting/transplanting, hedge pruning, pathway clearing and outdoor ice maintenance
Other Parks related duties as assigned or required
Candidates will possess:
Grade 12
Experience in Parks maintenance
Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
Familiar with Windows based computer systems and ability to learn new software systems regarding work orders, requests for service, asset management and payroll
Complete duties while exposed to environmental factors and working with personal protective equipment
Ability to learn new procedures related to the operation of cemeteries and to work within a cemetery setting
Unassisted heavy lifting up to 50 lbs
Ability to operate equipment and vehicles required
Valid Class 5 drivers license
Power Mobile Equipment Training (within 1 month)
WHIMIS (within 3 months)
Complete within 6 months: Chainsaw Safety Training, Standard First Aid and CPR Pesticide Applicators License, Class 3A License
Sask Polytech or SPRA Tree pruning (within 1 year)
