Reporting to the Public Works Manager the Summer Labourer is responsible for:
Perform physical labour outdoors in all types of weather for extended periods of time;
Safe operation and maintenance of gas powered trimmer, push mower;
Assist in repairs and upgrading to all parks and public green spaces administered by the Town of Fort Qu'Appelle, which may include but is not limited to: maintaining trees and boulevards, grass cutting, garbage picking, weed control and pest control;
Assist in delivery of services in the arena and other town operated facilities to support the user groups and ensure the facilities are properly maintained;
Other related duties as may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Valid class 5 driver's license
Must be able to walk long distances on even and uneven surfaces continuously;
Must be able to handle the physical aspect of operating grass cutting equipment on a continuous daily basis;
Experience with gas powered push mowers, trimmers and general "parks" equipment
Ability to work independently and / or as a contributing member of a team, exercising initiative and good judgement to complete work assignments and contribute toward a positive work environment

Dependable and reliable
