CALLING ALL COOKS! A golden opportunity is available for the right person!Love to cook for a" large family type setting"? Fred Douglas Heritage House is your perfect employment opportunity! We are looking for a reliable person to prepare and serve a fixed lunch and supper menu to approximately 30 senior citizens in a supportive housing setting. Guaranteed to work 8 shifts every 2 weeks, potential for extra shifts to pick up for vacation and sick coverage. Shift is 9:30am - 5:45pm. Responsible to clean own pots and cook ware, assist with washing dishes after meals, assist in keeping the kitchen clean with cleaning rotation and assist with daily garbage disposal. Must have and maintain a current food handlers certificate. Must also have a current (less than 6 months old) Criminal Record Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check. Must be fully vaccinated for COVID 19 (had at least 2 doses). Must be able to adhere to COVID 19 precautions and wear face mask while working.
Must be able to work independently in the kitchen, but also be a team player and work well with other care staff within the facility. Must be able to organize yourself and meet time line demands (have food ready to serve on time). Must be able to communicate and read well in English and be able to follow directions. Previous experience is preferred. Must have good personal hygiene and have working knowledge of food safety procedures and standards.
