Walker Aggregates, a division of Walker Industries, supplies high quality aggregates and asphalt to communities across much of Ontario. With locations in Simcoe, Grey and Essex Counties as well as the Niagara Region, Walker Aggregates operates eight quarries, eight sand & gravel pits and two asphalt plants

The materials produced at our quarries, pits and asphalt plants are used to build Ontario’s infrastructure, which is the foundation of our economy – including roads, bridges, underground infrastructure, sidewalks, houses, schools and hospitals.

Part Time Scale House Clerk

We are looking for a Part-Time Scale House Clerk to work out of our Orillia locations

Ideally, you have the following qualifications:

• Experience in a customer service / dispatch role
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
• Keen attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a variety of different settings
• Willing and able to work some Saturdays
• Willing to travel to the various site in the Barrie area, as needed
• Must have a valid driver’s license with clean drivers abstract

Practical Details

• Weighs and documents each truck leaving the quarry to ensure that loads are correct and do not violate safety transportation regulations.
• Receives payments by cheque, debit and credit cards and completes appropriate documentation to ensure records, orders and cash receipts balance.
• Operates a three way radio system to communicate with various colleagues at the quarry and assist in the smooth running of quarry operations.
• Opens and closes the Scale House to ensure systems such as computers, security etc, are operating correctly.
• 3 Days a week from Monday – Friday work with some Saturdays as needed and dependent on operations.
