Partner Assault Response Facilitator, Temiskaming PAR Program

Location:

Services will be delivered to the Temiskaming district. This position is currently available for remote work: subject to a review by the Ministry of the Attorney General.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Program Director, the PAR facilitator provides psycho-educational groups to male identified individuals who have been involved in the Justice system after incidents of intimate partner violence. The facilitator will plan and facilitate PAR groups together with the PAR Coordinator. The PAR facilitator will assist with the delivery of all aspects of PAR programming based on the Program Standards (2014).

Qualifications:

• BA/HBA/BSW, with proven expertise, in delivering the PAR program, based on an extensive knowledge in Partner Assault Response, mental health, and violence against women fields
• Knowledge and application of feminist theory and principles, applied to PAR.
• Ability to engage mandated clients in a dynamic group process
• Established knowledge of the determinants of health and the socio-economic landscape of the Temiskaming area
• Ability to established professional relationships within the Temiskaming violence against women and justice systems
• Conflict resolution strategies & ethical decision-making practices
• Ability to provide culturally competent and culturally safe programming for indigenous individuals.
• Strong organizational skills to track and report on all men who participate in the program
• This position will require evening work at least one evening a week and may require some travel to Temiskaming.
• Computer skills, word processing and capacity to populate relevant data bases
• Valid Ontario drivers license & access to a vehicle
