About us

Okanagan Canning Co is the primary provider of packaging supplies and services for the breweries, wineries, and cideries of the Okanagan, and is now increasing our support for existing and new customers in the Kootenays. This area has become increasing important to the business to the point that we need a local base in the Kootenay region to serve customers from Castlegar to Cranbrook.

This is a highly entrepreneurial role that means primarily working out of the truck (provided) and commuting from brewery to brewery, and cidery to winery.

Duties:
The primary responsibility of the role is to travel to a new site, and then set up and operate a canning production line on a day-to-day basis. On any given day you can expect to package anywhere from 2,000 to 8,500 cans on the client's behalf.

On other days you may find yourself delivering supplies to local breweries, cideries, etc, and taking orders for packaging, which may include cans, cardboard flats, or other related items.

When you're not serving customers you may find yourself doing some light maintenance on the machinery, loading the truck with supplies for the next day's job, or scouting for new customers.

Background:
Brewery or drinks production experience is an asset, but not required.

As the role involves spending significant time operating a production line, you will need to be good at fixing and running small electronic machines and equipment. Although full training will be provided and support is always available, someone who's mechanically-minded would do very well. If you're not afraid to change an alternator or you can operate an air compressor then you probably have the right mindset.

This is also a pretty social role - in a short period you will find yourself on a first-name basis with anyone making any sort of small-batch drink, which certainlly has its perks.

Above all the job needs flexibility and enthusiasm. There's potential to grow the business significantly and earn accordingly.

Salary: $40,000.00-$86,406.00 per year
