Heavy Equipment Parts Purchaser

As a key member of our Maintenance team you will be detail oriented, self-motivated and safety conscious. You’re a team player who is focused on ensuring safety and your positive approach in aligning with our Pillars of Excellence is paramount. You are a high performer, have a positive attitude and the ability to build and maintain respectful working relationships.

In this position you will be a part of Morgan’s success by:

  • Coordinating parts related to equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Ensuring data accuracy when entering into software and communicating to team.
  • Consistently communicating estimated delivery dates to the maintenance team.
  • Communicating shipping options and freight estimates to maintenance team.
  • Managing processes through to completion, ensuring updates are captured and shared.
  • Ensuring parts are tracked and inventoried accurately.
  • Overseeing the receiving of all incoming parts/goods, verifying against shipping documents.
  • Demonstrating proper safe storage and handling procedures for all parts and materials/chemicals while maintaining a clean and orderly shop.
  • Preparing documents and shipping goods back to vendors, correcting damages/shortages as required.
  • Maintaining stocked inventories as advised.
  • Championing Morgan’s safety program and maintaining and excellent safety culture.
  • Participating in other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Capable of lifting/ pushing and pulling up to 35 pounds on a regular basis.
  • 1-2 years of previous parts experience and product knowledge ideally relating to John Deere, Cat, Volvo, Komatsu and others.
  • 1-2 years of experiencing delivering materials.
  • Industry experience in the following areas would be considered strong assets to a successful candidacy: mining, heavy construction and technology products.
  • Computer literacy with applicable software knowledge along with shop parts experience. Experience in inventory control system and Microsoft office and ideally . Bid to Win software knowledge.
  • Knowledge of proper shipping procedures for transportation of dangerous goods.
  • Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and clean drivers abstract.
  • Use of skid steer, dolly, and hand carts.
  • Clearly demonstrate enthusiasm about their work and must be able to function effectively and purposefully in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to resolve concerns and deal with difficult situations in a professional manner.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • This is an on site position, working a scheduled rotation in the Fort McMurray area.
