Job description

The McManes Automotive Group is seeking a Parts Shipper/Reciever/Driver to join the South Trail Chrysler team! The shipper/receiver/driver is responsible for the timely processing of all inbound/outbound parts shipments, including the maintenance of all electronic parts records. You will also be responsible for delivering parts to our valued customers. Your efficiency and timeliness of delivery along with effective communication, safe driving skills and organizational ability will allow you to excel in this role. You will be the in person contact for our clients and work closely with the Parts Shipper/Receiver & the Parts Driver. In championing the customer service experience whilst aligning with your job responsibilities you will create an undeniable impact for the parts department and dealership.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine appropriate shipping method utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
  • Verify information on bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records by counting, weighing, or measuring items for both incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Affix shipping labels or stencils identifying information on packed cartons, including weight and shipping charges.
  • Insert items into containers with metal tape, using strapping machine and mail covers on wooden crates.
  • Unload and examine incoming shipments, record shortages, and put aside damaged items, correct damages and shortages with shipper.
  • Guide others in receiving incoming shipments and in preparing outgoing orders.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping material and supplies.
  • Accept unsold products returned by Parts Driver.
  • Organize, display stock attractively.
  • Assist with phones in the Parts Department when front counter is busy.
  • Coordinate orders for delivery/pick up to/from customers, satellite stores or vendors with the parts manager, parts department staff and/or the parts shipping/receiving clerk.
  • Obtain recipient’s signature upon delivery and maintain a log of delivery times.
  • Collect payment from wholesale customers when necessary
  • Performs other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 5 Non GDL Driver’s License
  • Provide a clean drivers abstract report and immediately notify management of any change in its status
  • High school diploma preferred
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
  • Must wear CSA approved steel toed shoes
  • Automotive experience preferred
  • Forklift experience an asset

Position Description

  • This position is required to work outside in various weather conditions and temperatures and may involve repeated physical movement and exertion.
